Graph Rates 2008 Hopefuls on the Issues

Using data from, Headstrong America has created a nifty graph rating 2008 presidential hopefuls on their adherence to liberal, progressive values.

The candidates are rated on 20 social and economic issues against's responses for the "ideal liberal." Russ Feingold and Ralph Nader came closest to the ideal responses.

Tightly clustered towards the liberal end of the spectrum are John Kerry, Hillary Rodham Clinton, John Edwards, and Wes Clark. Another cluster in the center of the spectrum contains Al Gore, Joe Lieberman, Evan Bayh, Mark Warner, and Bill Richardson.

Republicans John McCain and George W. Bush are clustered in the conservative edge of the spectrum as a reference.
